Rayith awakened, her glow sedated and her mind finally clear. She was twined with her Chosen on her ledge, comfortably aching just about everywhere. She had Flown and she had Chosen and she was happy. Zeth was a good bronze, a handsome, strong, smart bronze, and His was sure to work well with Hers. She was very proud of her choice and she knew that Hers would be as well. She knew her Flight had been strenuous and high and she was sure that her clutch would be beautiful. She was satisfied and satiated, and she liked that feeling. Now if only Hers would awaken so she could approve of her Choice. Yes, that would be good.
But Tiressa was not ready for such an activity. She was down in the Flightweyrs, completely entangled with E'ben. Legs twisted, head on chest, hair tangled, completely naked and definitely dead asleep. She did not wish to awaken anytime soon as was apparent from the slow, steady rise of her chest and her seemingly uncomfortable position. She was asleep and was likely to remain that was for a while. But Rayith wasn't fond of that idea at all. Hers should be awake, commending her.
Mine? she mentally prodded her bonded before nuzzling Zeth. You should wake up, you shouldn't sleep the day away, she continued, hoping that Hers would take that as an appropriate reason for be awaken. The sun was risen, but it wasn't too far above the horizon, hardly considered sleeping in yet, but the gold just knew that the sun meant time to rise for Tiressa normally and she really didn't keep track of when exactly that rising was. It truly didn't matter to her as long as her bonded was awake to sun, bathe, and feed her when required.
Tiressa grumbled a bit, not enjoying the fact that she was prematurely awaken. It took her all of two seconds, though, to figure out what was going on. She didn't bother to respond to Rayith, focusing instead on the man she was laying over. She was not expecting this result. It was very practical though. From what she'd seen of the man, he was a good, experienced leader and his dragon was quite the flyer.
She lifted her head slightly, raking her eyes along the bronzerider before snuggling her head back into his chest. Tiressa was not fully lucid yet and she wasn't planning on making any attempts to get that way soon. She was in the furs with an attractive man that she'd just had sex with, there was nothing wrong with enjoying that fact. She wasn't the most open person when it came to sex, but Flights were Flights and she wasn't complaining after this one. Sure, she hurt a good bit, but it was almost a good hurt, almost.

E'ben woke slowly, not bothering to open his eyes as he pulled himself out of an untroubled, dreamless sleep. The first thing he was aware of was how sore he felt. It was a lingering, just-under-the-surface kind of soreness, there but not entirely unpleasant. More satisfying than anything. The next thing he noticed was the fact that there was a woman wrapped around him. With the lingering tendrils of sleep still around his mind, he forgot Althea Weyr. He smiled as he ran a hand down his lover's back, then up again, twining his fingers through her hair. Had it gotten longer? He hadn't even noticed that until now. "Dierye..." he whispered as she lifted her head, not wanting her to move. He sighed when she put it back down again. "That's a good girl, go back to sleep. It's too early."
He could feel Zeth wake up, and he yawned, wishing they really could stay in bed. But they probably had things to do, errands to run. Run the Weyr, Zeth continued sleepily. Good morning, Weyrleader.
Hmm? Confused, E'ben sat up slightly and opened his eyes, and as he did, everything came crashing down on him. The Flight. Oh, shards. He looked down at Tiressa and jerked back, almost surprised to see her instead of Dierye despite the fact that he knew what was going on now. His face flushed crimson, and he lowered his eyes, focusing on the floor beside them. "Oh...I'm sorry. I was talking in my sleep." He knew that she wasn't stupid enough to believe the lie, but he was embarrassed for his sake as well as hers. "So, uh. The Flight. Yeah." he cleared his throat. Maybe he was still too tired to make rational thoughts.
Did I cheat on Dierye? Yes, irrational thoughts. Of course he didn't. She was de...gone, and dragonlust had nothing to do with real feelings. Zeth had won Rayith, that was all. He shifted his gaze over to the dragons. Zeth was lying comfortably beside his new mate, Rayith. To say that he seemed content would be an understatement. E'ben decided to be happy for him. Congratulations, Zeth.

Okay, so it wasn’t the best way to be woken up in the morning. She had been fully prepared to drift back off to sleep, but then she heard the whispering of another woman’s name. Okay. So what? She barely knew E’ben. She couldn’t expect any form of a relationship, shards, she didn’t even know if she wanted one. But there was tact. And tact involved not calling the woman you just slept with by a previous or different lover’s name. It was hurtful even to the invincible Weyrwoman. She just didn’t know how to respond to it. She didn’t even know what to do. She let her head continue to rest on his chest, though she knew her body had visibly tensed at the simple muttering of her name.
Shard it all. She needed to know what to do. The other Flights had ended simply enough. She had actually like the bronzerider! But he had left her, left her for a position at a larger weyr. She could understand, she was ambitious enough to get it, but Althea Weyr was supposed to be theirs! This time, this time she was just confused. How did you respond to that? His pitiful excuse didn’t help. She knew perfectly well that he was coherent, he’d just used the wrong sharding name.
So she decided to just play it off. If he still had another woman on his mind enough to call her by a wrong name, he obviously viewed this as just a Flight for position. There would be nothing there. So she just laughed. “Don’t worry about it, I understand.” No she didn’t, but that’s okay. “So Weyrleader, did you sleep well?” she continued, automatically untangling herself from him and wrapping the sheet around herself. Her knuckles gripped the sheet tightly, giving away her anxiety if he looked closely enough. But in a flash, she was moving about, grabbing her clothes. She needed to get out of here.
