It sounds wonderful. It was the only response he could think of, he might not know the rock but he could assume that she liked it. Perhaps it was special to her? Maybe, but then it could aslo just be a convieniant rock that she liked to sun on for no other reason than it was a good place to sun. Coming out of his musings as he finished the smaller herdbeast, Kaerth rumbled happily as his tongue snaked out to lick the blood from his muzzle.

Call me when your done. D'nor mentally told his bronze, eyes searching Tiressa's face for any sign she was worried or offended by his questioning about Rayith. He didn't want to offend her, offending people was such horrid buisness, it took forever for them to forgive and it was quite annoying really. Tiressa didn't seem annoyed at him though. Perhaps she was just cautious, after all, they didn't know each other well, they certainly weren't into the habit of sharing every thought. Sharing your every thought could be dangerous.

"Her glow?" He questioned softly, before understanding dawned on him, and he chuckled, "You really needn't worry. I'm sure Rayith will choose the strongest and the fastest, and though I love Kaerth dearly, we both know there's no way he can out speed the others. He's too big." A size that D'nor had always been proud of, Kaerth towered over almost everyone, Rayith was an exception being a gold, but it continued to amuse him that Kaerth was the gentlest bronze you could ever hope to meet.

Following her at an easy pace, he grinned right back. Any bronze would do as their queen commanded if they thought it would improve their chance of catching. Or more anything she asked.
"Not at all." He grinned back, enjoying Tiressa's company. She was loose, easy to talk to and not cold. It was an improvement on certain people he'd met.

Rayith allowed for the silence to persist as she ate her final beast. Sometimes silence was okay, right? She was eager to finish the beast and get to the sunning. She liked eating and all, but she wasn’t used to feeling this full and the sun, she decided, would feel amazing. It was already warming her back nicely already. Rayith thought it added to her glow, but she was going to keep her vain thoughts to herself for now.

Picking the last bone clean, the gold straightened, looking at her companion. He was clearly finished, already licking the blood from his snout. It’s this way, she called, launching into the air. Her legs were powerful, but it was her wings that beat steadily to hold her aloft until Kaerth joined her. As soon as he was in the air, she began to spiral up before heading off to the south, out of the feeding pens. Even though it was late afternoon, the sun still was shining brightly in that direction.

Tiressa was still on the ground and thoroughly impressed by D’nor. He had figured out what was bothering and had properly responded. Most males would have asserted how much better their bronze was or make some haughty comment about how the gold had already chosen well. Instead, he pointed out his dragon’s weaknesses and tried to ease her worries a bit. She almost wished that he’d show a bit more confidence in his dragon, but she saw the bulk and the muscle and she knew that he was right in some respect.

“He’ll outlast any of the others,” she commented, allowing herself that thought. She imagined that the bronze would have great stamina. “But that’s talk that’s saved for those not involved. I’m sure Rayith will pick wisely when the time comes. I’d just rather it be in the air.” She blushed, realizing what she was saying to D’nor. It sounded like she didn’t want Kaerth to win and it wasn’t that. She just wanted her dragon to decide like golds should. Having a winner picked out beforehand just led to trouble within the hierarchy.

A right turn and then another left saw them at the Dining Hall. It was late afternoon so the food was still laid out, but it was still early for dinner. “I hope you don’t mind eating so early. I like to get here before the rush so that I can socialize with the riders when it’s actual dinnertime.” Tiressa had a habit of not only sitting with the bronzes and browns, but also venturing over to all the other tables. True to her nature, she liked to know those who inhabited her weyr.

While some silences were awkward, Kaerth found that silence with Rayith wasn't really. It was just taking a break from talking, it was a nice silence. Besides, she was eating, it would be rude to interrupt her without first being spoken to. The last thing Kaerth wanted to do was upset Rayith.

Nodding easily as she launched off with the direction, Kaerth followed her into the air. She'd have to lead the way, as Kaerth had absolutely no idea where this rock she enjoyed was, but that wasn't a big deal, Kaerth was fine with following. Leading was nice, but there was nothing degrading about following, especially not when the leader was as nice as Rayith was. Following her easily, Kaerth allowed himself the moment to wonder where this place was, before pushing it from his thoughts. He'd find out soon enough.

"True. He's wonderful when you want brute strength or stamina, I've never known him to land out of necessity." Pride lit his voice as he spoke, he was extremely proud of Kaerth, was comepltey assured that teh bronze could do absolutely anything he put his mind to. That the Weyrwoman had seen his finer attributes was wonderful too, most saw the size and the little agility.
"I'm sure it will be, Rayith doesn't strike me as the type to settle for any but the best flyer, I highly doubt pretty words could sway your bonded's mind." It wasn't easy to offend D'nor, a fact that was proven by the way he took her words at face value and merely accepted it. Even if she didn't want Kaerth to win - which he doubted, Tiressa didn't seem to be the sort to do that. - it didn't matter, it was her opinion, and it was her he was trying to cheer up.

"I don't mind at all weyrwoman, company such as yours is hard to come by, I'll happily eat earlier for a chance to talk with you." It didn't really bother him really, he'd probably just end up spending dinner time up in his weyr with Kaerth, assuming the bronze didn't drag him out to the lake for a swim, dark or not.

Rayith flew for a minute before dropping a bit, hovering over the cliffs. Isn't it perfect? she asked before dropping down onto a protruding ledge. It's angle was catching the sun perfectly and it was clearly elevated over the rocks around it. The smooth surface was riddled with with other rocks that were sparkling in the sunlight. It made for a warm surface to lie on and the sun was sure to catch every part of their bodies. Rayith was quite proud of her discovery, but quite protective of it as well.

She touched down on the rock, moving to the side so that the large bronze would have room to settle as well. It is large enough for the both of us, she stated, lowering herself to the rock fully, stretching out her tail until it almost touched the edge. Please join me! she insisted, letting a set of lids begin to cover her eyes. The sun truly was a beautiful thing.

Tiressa nodded at his comment, "He looks like he could fly forever." It was nice to hear a bit of pride in the rider's voice. He was clearly infatuated with his dragon, but also aware of his good and bad points. It was logical and Tiressa approved. She didn't like the bronzeriders who were overconfident in themselves and their dragons. No matter how perfect the creature, there were still flaws and no dragon was ever guaranteed to win a Flight. D'nor apparently recognized that.

Tiressa resisted the urge to blush at his words. It was just flattery from a bronzerider before a Flight. She was a tad skeptical, but she simply inclined her head to him, recognizing his comment. "Then let us dine," she told him, heading for the table. A drudge would take their order. She collected her own food for lunch and breakfast, but the Headwoman insisted that they serve her at dinner meals. Something about a recognition of her status. She didn't mind, but it took a bit longer. She took her seat at the head of the top table and motioned for D'nor to take the seat at her right side.

Immediately, a drudge appeared to take their orders. "I'll have roast wherry with seasoned tubers and a slice of redfruit," she ordered, "And a skin of white wine as well." She was afforded some privileges due to her position and she wasn't going to ignore them all the time. Getting a skin of good wine every now and again wasn't a bad thing. The drudge turned to D'nor, "And what will you be having?"

It was certainly a nice little place, away from the other areas most dragons liked to sun. Secluded, but not so much so that Rayith's spot was completely cut off. It is, definately. The rest of the rocks got the sunlight as well, yes, Rayith was definately good at picking out sunning spots.

Landing next to her at her invitation, Kaerth settled down next to her happily, it was a lovely spot. Very warm. Crooning softly, he allowed the first lids on his eyes to close, enjoying soaking up the sun.

"Sometimes I think he could. If it was straight flying. Never had the time to test how long he could go, that and I've never wanted to push him." While others might enjoy testing the strengths of their bondeds, D'nor never saw the point. Kaerth saw right away if he could do something or not, and alerted his rider. Besides that, he knew Kaerth was strong and fit, why should he push it for the sake of facts? There wasn't a point to it.

If Kaerth could flirt, so could he, though D'nor's words were completely sincere. There was no point saying something you didn't mean, or if there was one, the bronze rider didn't see it. It was just a waste of air, unless the objective was to make them see you were lying, lies were much harder work than the truth. Sitting beside her with a glance around the still reletively empty dining hall, it was hard to believe that at meal times the hall was packed. Smiling at the drudge he nodded he head towards Tiressa,
"I'll have the same meal as the weyrwoman, and a cup of klah if it's not too much trouble." No doubt Kaerth would have him up late talking about Rayith's kindness. A rather annoying trait the bronze had, to gush about new friends util he exhausted the topic, it was cute, but tiring.

{Sorry about cruddiness. -points at D'nor- It's his fault.}

((Mine's not much better -.-))

Rayith stretched out a bit further, curling her tail a bit so that the tip was catching the sun. Thank you, I like it very much. I make Mine come lay with me most of the time. Now I'll make you do it when she won't. Playful tone in her voice indicated that she wouldn't actually make him come with her, but she might solicit his company on the rock every now and again. She didn't think that he would mind, maybe that was the proddiness speaking for her though.

Tiressa nodded, "I understand. Rayith is a very good flyer when it comes to stamina as well. Of course, she is a gold. She likes to fly. Sometimes her and I just kind of go out and fly straight. Well, we used to before I came to Althea. We have a lot to do now. We don't get as much time to pilfer away as we used to." She shrugged, it was worth it. She wouldn't give up having the power over her own life for anything. She loved the freedom that being Weyrwoman provided and she was more than willing to put up with the restrictions it placed. Althea was her baby, her project, nothing would make her truly loathe any of the duties that came along with it.

The Weyrwoman sighed, "I can't drink klah with dinner anymore. I'd be up all night." She used to be able to when she was just going through puberty, but it seemed now it held a greater effect over her. She had so much more to think about and to do. The effects of klah allowed her to focus more, therefore she was up longer. It wouldn't do. She needed to get sleep. She'd learned a while back to nix klah from her evening menu, despite her fondness of the drink.

Kaerth rumbled softly, his eyes whirling contentedly as he relaxed against the rock.
I'll hardly mind Rayith. Company as wonderful as yours is hard to come by. Indeed, he wouldn't mind at all if Rayith dragged him about, she was lovely. Not just in the colour of her hide either. She could order him about any day and Kaerth wouldn't mind a bit.

"Flying is wonderful when you have a few spare hours to do nothing but spend time with your bonded." D'nor murmured, nodding slightly. Rayith would be good at stamina, golds were well known for the fact that they could fly for ages and never give in. It was all those twists and turns that green's found easy that undid them.
"If you ever want a few hours to yourself, Kaerth and I could always attempt to help you with things, get them done quicker." He wasn't overly sure how good he'd be at anything she asked, but he'd certainly try his best.

"Kaerth will be chatting about Rayith for a while, so I need all the energy I can get my hands on." D'nor chuckled in response, being up all night wasn't an issue, not for him. Klah had the effect of giving him that little bit of a boost, but unfortunately probably wouldn't keep him up long enough for Kaerth. He'd fall asleep to the bronze's voice, and wake up to it too. Not a hardship certainly, but he'd prefer if it was on a different topic.
"It wouldn't do for you to loose sleep. It looks like you don't get enough as it is."

Rayith rumbled softly, happy for his company. It was a quiet companionship, even though they were talking. Their voices just seemed to be soft and the sun made everything seem quieter. It was oddly peaceful and she liked it. Why thank you, my bronze, she responded happily. It was right that her bronzes complimented her. She was beautiful and wonderful. It was the shine of her hide that was making her think such thoughts, but she was okay with that. She needed to be glowing and happy and sure of herself, it was part of getting ready for a Flight and she was proddy and happy about it.

Tiressa agreed, “I try to make time, though. It’s relaxing and it helps relieve the stress.” Her duties as a Weyrwoman were overbearing sometimes, but she loved it. Sometimes she needed something to distract her and flying was just that. Of course, more recently, she hadn’t gotten the chance. Her proddy Rayith had insisted on more alone time lately and it had been nice, but she really was neglecting a bit of her duties. Maybe it would be a little nice to have someone after the Flight that could help her catch up, but she still thought it would end up being a bigger hassle than it was worth in the end of it all.

She laughed at the thought of Kaerth chatting about Rayith, “I’m assuming he’s a bit enthralled with my gold.” What bronze could resist his glowing queen? They would all be obsessed with her until the Flight then it would edge off for a while until she was proddy again. It was just how the cycle worked. At his comment about how she wasn’t getting enough sleep, she resisted the urge to snap at him. He was clearly implying that she didn’t look good and it hurt her ego just a bit. Realizing it was probably her dragon’s influence on her, she bit her tongue and simply nodded. There was no need for a fight.
